Ambassador Apparthotel

The staff were warm and friendly, and the hotel was only a few meters from my office. The room rate was a good deal compared with other three-star hotels, though adding breakfast made it too expensive for me, so I booked without it. The S-Bahn station is a five-minute walk away. Leave the car at the hotel, since parking in the city center or old town is really difficult.

There’s a big free parking lot outside, and my family room was enormous. But it was on the first floor right by the entrance, where people smoked outside the door all evening. The internet kept cutting out, and Vodafone only had EDGE coverage in the area, so working or watching Netflix at night wasn’t possible. The place feels like a German hotel from the 80s that needs renovation. Maybe it’ll surprise you if that’s your thing, but I’ll stay somewhere else next time.

There’s a great Greek restaurant within walking distance. The hotel itself was quiet, and I slept well for all four nights. Breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and tidy, and it had the essentials. The Wi-Fi wasn’t very good, but there was an internet cable in the room for a more reliable connection.

We stopped here for one night on the way to Austria. A lovely, quiet place with huge rooms and nice staff who gave good service.
