Everything else was okay, and it’s a great hotel, but the room was a major disappointment. It was very warm, with no A/C and windows that couldn’t be opened. That’s not good for a hotel of this caliber.

The food was amazing, with a nice range of vegan options, and having access to the Grömitzer Welle was a welcome extra. Our room had enough space and everything we needed. The friendly front desk staff even upgraded us to a room with a more beautiful view. Absolutely loved the place and would definitely recommend it!

The hotel is right by the beach, and it’s easy to get sand between your toes. Beach use comes with a tax that’s included in the room charge; you get a ticket to show if asked. Don’t lose it, or you’ll have to clean the beach to make up for your use, or just get a new one. You can also rent one of the charming wicker cabins with seating for two. There are funny-looking wicker cabins all along the beach. There’s plenty to choose from at breakfast, and the coffee is excellent. Dinner at the hotel needs to be booked ahead and is always fully booked. The reception area has a small shop with beer, whiskey, water, snacks, ice cream, and souvenirs. There’s no minibar or even a fridge in the rooms, but you can call a robot to bring snacks and drinks. Prices are listed in the room and whatever you get goes on your bill, which is quite convenient. The spa is huge, but the rooms are small and have no air conditioning, so sleeping can get quite warm. If you open the window, it can be noisy depending on the time, and seagulls can make quite a racket. The beds are firm, and the extra bed for children is super firm, so guess who gets to sleep in that one. The shower is small and shares a door with the toilet, so choose wisely. A clear glass wall separates the shower from the room, with a curtain on the outside. The reception staff are super helpful and speak enough English, though they’re not very good at it. Parking is a catastrophe: you can’t book a space through the hotel, and the hotel’s private parking area is open to everyone. It costs 10 euros per day, paid when you leave. Don’t lose your ticket or you’re doomed. Nothing is written in English anywhere, from menus and signs to directions, so getting around is a bit of a challenge. Even getting a dinner table means jumping through hoops and hurdles. People are friendly and willing to help, though.

The rooms feel modern and fresh, and the wellness area was nice, with a good view and everything clean. The area suits older people and families with children; for young couples it’s very boring, though it’s good if you want quiet. The restaurant staff weren’t very attentive, and the empty tables were dirty. The evening buffet was okay but nothing special, and breakfast wasn’t either. There was no fresh fruit bowl or special muesli with great nuts. Service in the wellness snack area was a bit lazy. It wasn’t self-service, but the staff didn’t bring the food to our table. We wanted to book a massage on the second day, but there wasn’t an appointment available for us.
