Seemöwe

We stayed from July 19th to July 29th, 2025. The beach and promenade were just a stone's throw away, and walking into town was easy too. The staff were great, the rooms very nice, and the breakfast buffet very good. If we return to Grömitz, we'd choose the Seemöwe again.

The Baltic Sea is only a few minutes away on foot, and the little breakfast buffet sets you up well for the day. The rooms are bright, welcoming, and clean, with the kind of Baltic Sea charm you hope for on a holiday in the far north. I felt very comfortable here, so it's five stars from me!

The breakfast buffet was the biggest disappointment. On the first day we got only plates of cold cuts and cheese, the second day's buffet was very meager, and on the third day it had disappeared shortly after 9:00 a.m. with NOTHING replenished. When we raised the problems at checkout, there was no apology or discount. The attractive front of the main building is the only positive thing I can mention about this accommodation. Our apartment looked bright and welcoming at first, but the Ikea-style furnishings were already a bit dated. The walls needed painting, there were light water stains on the countertop, and the kitchen blind was stained. A large piece of wood paneling behind the bathroom faucet had broken off, as had the shower door's top hinge. The handheld shower bracket was broken too, and there was an ugly brown mark on the wall from its old installation. Despite the description calling it "Allergy-friendly", there was black mold in the shower and in the kitchen window reveal. The balcony was quite spacious, but needed cleaning.

The Comfort room was spacious and clean, and the hotel itself was quiet and clean too. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with egg dishes made fresh. There's free parking behind the hotel, and it's right in the center, just a short walk from the beach promenade and shops.
