Best Western Hotel Darmstadt Mitte

The bed was pretty uncomfortable, but the rest of the stay was good. It’s a typical Best Western, with a decent room, shower amenities, and a sitting area. Check-in was quick and staff were friendly throughout. Breakfast was quite decent for €15, and there’s a small bar serving drinks late into the night. The parking garage is right underneath for easy access, and the hotel is only a few minutes from the main square and transport.

The staff are polite, helpful, and efficient, and the whole hotel is spotlessly clean. It’s quiet and peaceful, with spacious, well-maintained rooms that have been updated recently. Breakfast is freshly cooked, delicious, and has lots of choice. I always stay here when I’m in Darmstadt. It’s absolutely outstanding, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

When I arrived in March, the room was extremely cold because the heating was completely off. My colleague had the same problem. The hallway heating was on, but the room didn’t warm up during the first night. It was finally warm after the second night, just as I was checking out. Room service also didn’t come, even though I put the sign on the door asking for it. Staff had suggested I didn’t need service for a one-night stay, but they offered no compensation, unlike what I’ve experienced as good practice elsewhere. The hotel is well placed near the city center and public transport, above a parking garage. Be aware there’s no elevator from the parking area or to most rooms, only stairs. The rooms are spacious but outdated. I can’t recommend staying here, at least not in winter.

The staff at reception were always smiling and very helpful, with good advice on places to visit, going out, and public transport. Special Hi to Sabine! The room was comfortable and clean, and the hotel was very nice. With such a central location, I had a great experience overall and would definitely return on my next trip to Darmstadt.
