Ferienhof Laurenz

It was okay.

Our daughter had a lovely time, and the food was tasty, even if the buffet choices were limited. The hotel itself was very nice. Some details on the website don't match what's actually available anymore, though. For instance, there's no afternoon childcare. It'd be great if they updated the information.

We spent a week in an apartment at the "Waldhaus" with our two-year-old son. He especially loved the bouncy castle and feeding the animals. There was plenty for families to do, including indoor and outdoor playgrounds, ride-on toys, lots of animals, feeding and pony rides, a soccer field, a Happy Club, and dancing with Happy. The grounds are beautiful and quite spacious. Most of the staff were very friendly and professional, and the all-inclusive deal was nice. The food was okay, standard hotel fare. The place does show its age in many ways, and the facilities feel below what we've seen at other family hotels. A lot of playground equipment was broken or worn, some board games were missing pieces, and the books were yellowed and shabby. Our room was also unfortunately very noisy.

The kids were happy, especially on the days when childcare was available, and I came away far more impressed than I expected from a spontaneous trip. The kitchen team deserves special praise. The food was delicious every time, with lots of variety. I also loved how relaxed the restaurant felt. There wasn't the usual all-inclusive hotel rush, and we had a comfortable table reserved for us throughout our stay. Thanks to the whole team!
