Hotel Schepers

The area is very quiet and lovely for walking or cycling. Our room was large and warm, with an excellent bathroom and a lovely view of the local countryside. The restaurant was well above average and the food excellent, though fairly expensive. The hotel itself was very pleasant, with friendly, helpful, courteous staff and good food.

I’d recommend this peaceful place to anyone looking to relax. The spa adds to that feeling, with two full-service saunas. The room and housekeeping were impeccable, and the restaurant staff and concierge were top notch. From the service to the food and room, the whole establishment makes you feel at home.

This was my second stay, and I find the hotel really relaxing. There’s plenty of parking, and the rooms are very large and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, with lots of delicious choices. I had dinner at the restaurant on my first night. It was good, but not great, and a little expensive.

We reached Gronau at 11 p.m. after huge traffic coming from Poland. Every hotel seemed to be closed, and we couldn't find anywhere to sleep. Then the kindest host, just as she was about to leave, saw we had nowhere to stay and checked us in. That sort of kindness doesn't happen often. The rooms were clean, there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms, and breakfast was good. We'll definitely come back, and I can recommend this hotel.
