Pension Weinberg Gustrow Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful, but that couldn’t make up for how unpleasant the building was. The room and the building smelled strongly musty, and the bathroom showed why: mold was everywhere, including outside the bathroom. There was also a live electrical outlet hanging out of the wall, a fire risk and dangerous if touched the wrong way. We could hear residents at the nearby Pflegeheim shouting late into the night from our rear-facing window. There is a shed for bicycles, which is a small plus, though it was very messy. I’d never stay here again, even if someone paid me.

It’s a quiet spot, about a 10-15 minute walk from the city center, and the price was good. The old building appealed to me, though I could have done without the 1980's redecoration. There’s a pleasant garden with barbecue pits, windows that open all the way, and parking on site. The place was clean, but there was no WiFi. I stayed in April 2023.

The team at Weinberg Hotel are warm and very attentive, always checking that guests have what they need. Breakfast was delicious, and dinner at the restaurant was just as good, with meals made from local products. I’d recommend trying one of the wild pig dishes. A hotel I’d happily recommend.

The rooms are roomy, clean and comfortable for a fair price, and the WiFi is free and stable. Breakfast was exquisite too. If you’re visiting Güstrow, this is a great place to check in.
