Restaurant El Greco

The owner was friendly and courteous, and we even got an ouzo at the end. Some of the other staff, though, seemed really annoyed, so the service was hit or miss. The food came quickly and was okay, just nothing special. For the portion sizes and taste, the prices felt high. It wasn't a total disaster, but I'd choose plenty of other restaurants first.

The old stadium restaurant isn't somewhere to go for a fancy atmosphere, but it's a good spot when you're in the mood for Greek food. This was our second visit to El Greco since the change of ownership, and we've been happy both times. The appetizers, Santorini platter, and the lamb shank shown in the photo were all spot on.

We'd eaten here plenty of times before and had ordered delivery too, but today's order was our first since the new owners took over. It was a letdown. The schnitzel was bland and undercooked, while the fries were soggy and still partly raw in the middle. For the price, the serving was a joke: one regular schnitzel and about four tablespoons of fries, with not even a packet of ketchup. I've had much more generous portions at decent restaurants for the same money. I felt ripped off. What does their “senior citizen portion” look like? I can't recommend it.

We left completely full after eating there yesterday. The food was really delicious, and the portions were so big. We'll definitely be back.
