Getting involved with the horses was the main reason we came, and it was great for our ten year old. The stable is only a ten second walk away, and she got to help with tacking and had a really good lesson with one of the young ladies there. Ella was especially good with our daughter during two lessons. I forget the other instructor’s name, but she was really good too!!!! We stayed just under a week in an apartment, which gave us the independence of self catering, with the restaurant there when we needed it. The rooms are straightforward, but the atmosphere is excellent. Kids can roam the grounds on pedalled go-karts, and we enjoyed tea and cake or a beer under the oak tree until 2000. The Friday bbq grill was delicious. Staff are around without being in your face, and very helpful when you need them.

A really lovely, relaxing place. The only downsides were the lack of internet and very poor mobile coverage. WiFi connected but had no internet, and mobile service was only 2G, which they can’t influence.

This was my second stay, and I’ll keep coming back. The home cooking is world-class, the game is top-notch, and the place is tucked away in nature. It’s a mecca for people who love the outdoors and hiking. Everyone is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to fulfill all “special requests”! There are a few minor things one could complain about, but those are better discussed directly with the Kajahns than posted here.
