The restaurant’s local food was great, and the beer on tap was spot on. The menu doesn’t change often, though, and there isn’t much choice, especially for children. The hotel is modern and excellent, while the camping facilities are basic, with no hot water, but well maintained. It’s a friendly family place in a rural spot, deep in a valley that, as I expected, had flooded recently. The owners are friendly but have a lot to manage, so there are a few rules to follow, like no cars leaving the campsite from 1PM to 3PM and shorter restaurant hours on quiet days.

We’ve camped here regularly for years, and after at least 35 years of enjoying the campsite, hotel and restaurant, we now sleep at the hotel because of our age and unwind at the campsite. That works out really well. The owners are friendly, and the food is delicious. The campsite is a good fit if you’re happy with very basic comfort. There’s no luxury or entertainment, and it suits parents whose children want to explore nature. Families looking for organized activities for their kids may not find it suitable.
