That strong smell from next door reaches the hotel, and it’s a big part of why I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a holiday or personal trip. There’s a timber company beside it that also treats wood, and the odor is hard to miss. The place is visibly worn as well. I’m in Hagenow for work for a few days nearly every year, and since we haven’t found another hotel, we make do. Still, this isn’t an experience you need to seek out.

I grew up there, and I’ve stayed at this good hotel with its very nice rooms. The service is friendly, the price is reasonable, and I’ve been back before. I’ll visit again.

The beds are just two mattresses piled on top of each other, and the rooms smell musty. If you’re over 1.80 meters tall, you’ll get a headache. These are basement rooms with no bathroom, and you share one toilet and shower with 20 other people down there. They even charge €5 for Wi-Fi, which is outrageous.

We were a group of five and came for breakfast. We were the only guests, and they looked after us superbly. Great praise for this hotel. We’ll be back.
