I've never had an experience like this. After the night from hell, we moved to another hotel the next day. One bed collapsed, leaving us on the floor with the mattresses. At checkout, the owner told us, "Fuck off, I don't care, I have my money." I wonder if some of the positive reviews were bought, because the room photos don't reflect what we found. At reception we got an icy, rude welcome. When we saw the first room, it felt like we were in the wrong movie. It was so disgusting they wouldn't even accommodate a dog. We asked for another room, which was also a disaster, but it was late and we had to take it. We told the manager we'd find somewhere else the next day, and the owner got upset and abusive. The rooms were awful: the sink was filthy and crooked, the toilet was filthy, the sheets were secondhand and already used, and the beds looked like old bulky-waste furniture. The room smelled strongly of human excrement and mold, and there was no hot water. Everything looked untouched since the 60s, and nothing in the complex seemed to have been repaired. The man who'd been so cold at reception turned out to be the owner of this dump. He should be ashamed to let people who'd traveled so far stay in filth. The owner is from the South, but people in his country shouldn't be treated like that either.

We booked by mistake and tried to cancel right away, but they still charged us the full 100% of the reservation even though the cancellation caused them no inconvenience. When we asked why, the response was incredibly rude. The service was appalling. Their last review on Booking.com made it sound like they thought they were above Spanish tourists visiting the Black Forest and Lake Constance area.

The landlord was very pleasant to deal with, and our dog was no problem at all. The apartment was well maintained, with vineyards just behind it and the lake a short walk away. It was very noisy, though, and the bed was very small.

We had a great stay, but the reception was unusually unfriendly for this area.
