Gasthof Römer

I was there for just one night. The room faced the street and was a little noisy despite the good windows, and the construction workers in the building were loud too. Service and cleanliness were fairly good, though both could be better. There's no breakfast at the hotel. I asked at the Hotel Krone next door, and they offered breakfast for €13.

The room was freezing, with radiators that barely worked and didn't warm it properly. Shower pressure was very low too. I wanted to dry my hair, but there wasn't a socket for the hairdryer provided 😂. Then there's a ceiling light in the hallway between the bedroom and the rest of the room, but no switch for it, so you're left feeling around in the dark for the other switch. Must've been an April Fool's joke or something.

The rooms are right by the main road, so bring earplugs. The roller shutter on the window was a nice touch, but there was no Wi-Fi. The beds were alright, and the room had modern furnishings; the bathroom was nearly okay, though the shower screen didn't close properly and water got onto the floor. We wondered at first if we had the right place. There's no reception: you call a phone number that's almost impossible to spot, get a code, then pick up the key from a machine in the back courtyard. Fine for two nights, though.

The price is low, and the village is pretty and has a typical feel. The rooms were basic but clean, with decent bedding and a very basic bathroom. There's no reception. The busy road outside makes it noisy even through the double-glazed windows.
