There were a couple of good points, including a roomy bathroom and a friendly barman, but the stay was mostly disappointing. The hotel felt dirty, breakfast was poor and unhygienic, and the host came across as cold. For what it costs, we've found much better places elsewhere in Rhineland Palatinate, and wouldn't choose to stay here again in its current state.

We found the location handy for the motorway, visiting family and friends nearby, and exploring the Rhineland. There was also a family at breakfast who said they regularly use it as a stopover. We were four people and stayed four nights in a very spacious family room, with breakfast included at a very reasonable price. The hosts were friendly, the room was comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful. We were out most of the time and didn't try the restaurant, though it looked welcoming and its menu looked good. I'd recommend it.

The Biergarten was a nice touch, and there was plenty of parking. We stayed one night, the room was clean and spacious, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly.

The room cost 300 euros for two nights for two adults and two children, which felt hugely overpriced. We've stayed at lots of hotels in Germany, and this was our worst experience by far. At the start of our holiday we stayed at a lovely hotel near Trier that was cheaper, much nicer, and had staff who seemed to want to work in a hotel. Its breakfast and food were outstanding. The barman on our first night here was very nice, but we wouldn't return or recommend this place. Breakfast here was poor. There was only a shared tub of margarine, no butter or breakfast tea, and everything on the table was sticky. I lost my appetite and skipped breakfast the second morning. We booked two rooms but were given a family room with a lounge, leaving us with only one bathroom while still paying the price of two separate rooms. Both bedrooms were outdated, dirty and dusty, with cobwebs. There were three mugs and two glasses for the four of us, and some of the sheets and towels were stained. Things felt hit and miss and in need of some care. For the whole two-night stay, we felt no friendliness or effort to make us welcome. The woman in charge was very unfriendly and spoke so quietly she could barely be heard. When we arrived, it seemed she just wanted to send us off to our room.
