Samantha at reception was extremely polite and professional when we spoke with her in the morning. She was the best part of the service. The hotel itself was clean, but our stay was still unpleasant, and I’d rate it quite low. We arrived a little after 11 PM because our train was delayed. The doors were locked when we got there, which I can understand at that hour in the city centre. Two staff members were at check-in. One woman was polite enough, but the large man came across as rude and gave us a very unpleasant, even racist vibe. It wasn't the welcome we hoped for. For a Hilton, the lack of a refrigerator in the room was surprising. When I asked, I was told to bring our items downstairs if we needed them chilled. We got a garbage bag full of ice instead, which felt really subpar. Breakfast the next morning was a letdown too. Everything smelled strange, almost fishy or eggy, and wasn't appetizing. We’ve had great service at hotels in Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, but this one fell short. Apart from Samantha’s kindness, it wasn’t a pleasant stay.

The location is very good, but the value for the price isn't impressive. You can find better hotels in Hamburg for the same money. Breakfast was basic, boring, and the same every day. They only clean the room when you ask.

The staff were super helpful, and the continental breakfast was nice, with an okay range of choices. Cleaning, though, was quite lacking. The hotel is near some shady neighborhoods, so pay attention to which route you take into the city center.

The staff didn't seem very professional, though their service was quite good. Breakfast was dull, with limited choices that didn't change over several days. The room's air conditioning was restricted too. As a guest, you couldn't adjust it freely and had to ask reception to change it.

The rooms were comfortable and had what we needed for a relaxing stay, and the staff were welcoming and professional. Hampton by Hilton in Hamburg is conveniently located and very clean. Breakfast was included, with a wide range of delicious options to start the day. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hamburg.
