A few days before I was due to arrive, I found out in the ALL app that my reservation had been cancelled. I had booked through the app, and although there was a temporary problem with my card during booking, the reservation showed as confirmed. I even emailed the hotel directly to check and they confirmed it. When I called after seeing the cancellation, they told me to make a new booking, but there were no rooms left by then. The hotline suggested other hotels, but they cost more and didn't have the same conditions. I ended up booking with another nearby chain at short notice, which was inconvenient and disappointing after receiving confirmation. This is just my personal experience with that reservation.

The stay itself was very comfortable, but the hotel felt like a ghost place: no events, no bar, and nobody around chatting. That was really disappointing, and the snacks were very expensive for a 3-star hotel. The location is usually a strong point, but while it was snowing and windy, getting there was a struggle. You can only reach the hotel on foot or by taxi, and in that cold it was a huge hardship.

Larasita checked us in and was friendly, professional, and ready to answer our questions. The hotel is a short walk from Hamburg Haubtbanoff and an even quicker one to the city centre. Rooms were clean and really nice, with excellent WiFi. There isn't a bar, but the vending machine has alcohol and snacks, though you leave a deposit in case you take more than you've paid for. We bought things at one of the nearby supermarkets instead, and there are cafes and bars close by too. The TV has only a couple of English news channels. We had a great experience and I'd recommend it.

The Alster is close by, with lovely views and good walks. The hotel is also near the main station, so supermarkets and places to eat are right around the corner. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, and breakfast is well worth it. You can even make your own waffles. Had a great stay at ibis Hamburg :)

Really good value compared with other hotels, and the location is perfect. The room was clean and didn't smell, with a comfortable size for one or two people. It was just right.
