Sporthotel Hamburg by JUFA Hotels

Aldi next door was handy for getting dinner at a reasonable price. Finding the hotel, though, was a nightmare. The address points to a sports field, and nobody tells you the hotel is another 300 metres down the back. I spent 40 minutes searching around. There were lots of signs on the fence the next day, but they need a big sign facing the street, not just the side road. The sports centre staff accused us of using staff parking. There were no signs, and we only found the marked spaces around the far side after checking in and getting to our room.

The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the team takes good care of things. It’s a basic standard hotel, but there’s a new owner who took over a few weeks ago and is moving it forward.

The rooms are quite big, some with one large bed and a smaller one. Breakfast, though, was very limited, and for what you get it felt a bit expensive.

It’s quite a way from the center of HH, but getting there by bus or train is no hassle. The rooms themselves are okay.
