Hotel im Anker

I liked the character of the place, especially the low ceilings, narrow steps, and occasionally funky layout. It’s a charming hotel in a charming city. There was a cleanliness issue in the room I first checked into, but the staff were accommodating and let me switch rooms at no extra cost. Breakfast was okay, enough that you won’t go hungry, but nothing to get excited about.

The room had vegetables and a nice choice of breads and cheese at breakfast, though nothing was especially remarkable. Staff were friendly. The surroundings are pretty, and I liked the interesting room with its authentic feel, odd details, and not a single straight angle. There was a slightly strange smell in the room, possibly from the cleaning supplies.

Bikes can be kept safely in a shed next to the hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, seem freshly renovated, and are well kept. You can tell the building is really old from all the askew bits. Breakfast is good. Nothing to write home about, but it’s good accommodation.

The welcome from the staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast was enough, with a good cappuccino that got me up in a good mood. Everything went smoothly, and I’d recommend staying here. It’s an old building, which is fine, right in the city center with a parking lot. A brilliant choice if you’re looking for a good balance of price and quality.
