Yeah, if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful and calm, this hotel is really good.

The room was already warm when I arrived, and the bed was comfortable. I was here for one night on a work trip and found the place quiet, with a clean bathroom and a friendly welcome. Breakfast the next morning was very good. Wi-Fi was free, and parking was available too. I’d happily stay here again.

We had a great location and the view was magnificent. The beds are definitely a strong point, and everything was very clean, though the building has an old smell to it. The spa area sounds like a nice idea, but it doesn't quite work well in practice. Breakfast is basic, and the coffee tastes stale. For €5, though, you can have tea and make do with the limited selection. It was fine for a comfortable two or three night stay.

The room was clean and comfortable, which made the noise issues a shame. We were on the 1st floor, above the main entrance to the annex, and could hear a lot from outside. The sound insulation between our room and the one above was poor too, so footsteps and toilet noise came through. The hotel itself is charmingly set beside a small stream, and the above-ground pool is a nice plus.

The breakfast was quite acceptable, with bread and rolls, coffee, juice with pulp, milk, and even salmon with horseradish. The view from our room was nice, and the location was quiet. Still, we regret the money we spent and wouldn't have stayed if it hadn't been a spontaneous booking. The price didn't feel fair for what we got. We booked a standard double room by phone, but the bill said we had a "comfort" double room. If that was comfort, I wondered what a basic double room would be. The balcony door had to be handled carefully because its top hinge wasn't attached properly and it nearly fell off. The furniture looked like it was from the 70s/80s and seemed to have been maintained by a nice but elderly caretaker. Most of the guests were older people. The pool was like one you'd find in a single-family home's backyard. We were given room 10 on the first floor and arrived late at night. We had to hunt around in the dark for the key and the safe. The bed creaked loudly at every movement. We're a young couple, but we were worried about waking everyone else, and we couldn't sleep ourselves. I had a slight backache the next morning. Other hotel guests also complained about the noise from our bed. At about 10:00 a.m. the next morning, I went to reception. The woman who usually works in the kitchen was friendly and helpful. She found two other rooms for me, rooms 9 and 16. Their beds didn't squeak as badly, but they were still far from quiet. I apologized and said we still wanted to check out. We had to wait for the owner, who wasn't there and only came to our door shortly before 11:00. He was incredibly rude, came right up to us, and tried to say a squeaky bed was normal. He stomped something about being 72 and certified, as if he knew what he was talking about and we didn't. My husband and I had to restrain ourselves. We're not teenagers, we've stayed in quite a few hotels for work, and we'd never had a bed like that. Our own bed is usually pretty quiet. At that moment my dog had made himself comfortable on the bed. The owner gave us a stern look and said, "And a dog has no business being in bed." I told him, getting more annoyed with his attitude, that we'd booked a room with a dog. We should decide where the dog could lie, not him. In a regular apartment the owner couldn't dictate where the dog had to be in the room. If he allows pets, he has to accept that they'll behave as they do at their owners' homes. He wasn't accommodating at all, so we ended up using the room extensively for a second night. He did have to adjust the bill. The place may be clean, but it has outdated furnishings and noisy rooms. The owner was a disaster, while the other staff were friendly but unsure about pretty much everything. I wouldn't expect goodwill over defects or requests. Breakfast was like home, nothing special but nothing bad either. If this hadn't been a last minute booking, we'd never have stayed.
