Bed'nBudget Expo-Hostel Dorms

I was in Hanover for work when my airline lost my luggage, and my office had booked this place at the last minute. I ended up with a four-bed hostel room, but had it to myself. The staff were understanding and helped me out with hygiene supplies, plenty of towels and blankets. The place is clean, quaint and has a distinctive feel. The toilet, sink and shower are communal, which North American visitors may need to get used to, but the toilet was always clean and stocked when I used it. I also liked the courtyard and the chance to meet other travelers. I had a long, good conversation there with people from Spain, Norway, China and Vietnam. It's affordable and clean, and I'd recommend it to backpackers looking for a good place to stay.

Getting around was a little inconvenient while I was there because the trams weren't running. If they had been, the center would have been just a 10-minute ride away. Bikes are available to rent, though it takes about 45 minutes to cycle into town. There’s a supermarket not far down the road and a Fitness First gym nearby. The beds and lockers were really good, the kitchen was okay, and the shared showers were clean with good pressure.

A cheap choice for a short stay in hannover. The beds, including the two or three tier ones, were fairly comfortable. The WC was reasonably clean, but there are too few for the shared rooms, so you may have to wait at busy times. The restaurant serves typical European food and is on the expensive side. There's also a common kitchen, though it isn't very modern and can be a bit unclean. It only really works if you bring basic groceries.

There were six of us in the room, so privacy wasn't great, but it suited our needs perfectly. We were a band on tour trying not to spend much. It was clean, comfortable and quiet, and I got a great night's sleep.
