The rooms are big and spacious, but it still feels like the place is under construction, with basic things missing. The Wi-Fi was the slowest I've experienced, and all the rooms share one balcony without any dividers.

After the reply, I raised my rating by one point. We had reported the cigarette smell to reception right after checking in, but they gave us the same answer as in the response: it wasn't their fault, and there was nothing they could do. It makes me wonder how other hotels handle this. For the same price the night before, we stayed in a beautiful, new hotel in downtown Düsseldorf, so this rate felt ridiculous. The rooms smelled of cigarettes, the two mattresses in our bed were at different heights, and the building seemed to have had very little effort put into it. It wasn't very clean, the Wi-Fi didn't work, and breakfast was pretty bad. I guess they can get away with that because there's nowhere else to stay in town.

The place is clean and looks much better inside than it does from outside, so it works perfectly for a short stay. Just watch out if you use the side stairs to go out for a smoke: the door only opens from the inside, so you could get stuck.

Good value for the money. It's a basic guesthouse, but the rooms are clean and spacious. Quite a few guests seem to be people working in the area.
