Ostehof Weertzen

The landlord was helpful and friendly, and the house was clean and well looked after. It’s a small, cozy holiday home with the essentials, bright, welcoming rooms, and a terrace under a big oak tree that’s lovely for a summer evening. The chairs could use cushions, though, and the clothes rack was saggy and unstable. We also could’ve used a few more dishcloths and tea towels in the kitchen. A small climbing frame is available for children on the property. Inside, there’s a steep staircase, so it may not work well for older people or small children. The road by the property stays busy even during the day. There were lots of mosquitoes getting into the house through the windows, and we ended up with quite a few bites. Insect screens would help. We also spotted a few spiders on the ceiling. :)

There are great cycle paths nearby, and we enjoyed lovely rides around the area. Fresh rolls are easy to get at Steffens Bakery in Heeslingen, which has a wide selection. The location also makes it easy to get around and visit Bremen, Zeven, Heeslingen, Tister Moor, and Buxtehude, all of which are worth seeing. The holiday home was wonderful for the two of us travelling on a self-catering basis. Mr. Postel gave us a warm welcome and a thorough introduction to the house. A fresh bouquet of flowers on the table helped us feel at home straight away. Everything was modern and pleasantly furnished.

We had a truly wonderful holiday with our dog. The holiday home was lovely, right by the beautiful Oste River and a small bathing lake. The stairs up to the second floor are very steep, so they’re not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

The farm and swimming lake beside it were a dream, and our little one is now a big fan of runner ducks ;-) We had plenty of room for a relaxed family holiday. It’s a rural spot but still centrally located, with lots of possible trips nearby, though the setting was so lovely we hardly needed them. We spent a week at the Ostehof, and the holiday home was fantastic. It has everything a family could want, including a well-equipped kitchen, a washing machine, and a wood-burning stove, plus a cozy atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
