The apartments were spotless and beautifully furnished, and the old villa has a charming, lovingly done atmosphere in a unique spot. It's an ideal base for day trips, with a central location. For Dresden, we took the train from the nearby station to avoid parking hassles, and were in the heart of the city in just a few minutes. The very attentive landlady also shared useful tips for the many places to explore. We had a wonderful short break and will definitely return. We recommend this house wholeheartedly.

We loved how quickly we could walk to Dresden or the Malerweg trail, then come back and unwind in the peaceful surroundings. The sunlit attic apartment is delightful and well equipped, with views at sunrise and sunset. Breakfast in the garden was wonderful. Everything's ready for a barbecue or evening fire, and there are lots of cushions to make the garden furniture cozy. Afterward, you can soak in the huge tub for two. We thought the place was fantastic and would definitely return.

You can really relax here. The holiday apartment has a magnificent view, a huge bathroom, a very comfortable living room and a well-equipped kitchen. The hostess is very friendly and completely flexible about guests' needs.

Everything went smoothly at Pension zur Sonne. The rooms are decorated with care and full of thoughtful details, and the accommodation feels like something from a fairytale castle. The landlady is very friendly, and it's excellent value for money. We highly recommend it.

Heidenau makes a great base for Dresden, or for hiking and climbing in the direction of Pirna. Beginners could try the Bastei rock formation, while experienced climbers have plenty of routes and trails to choose from. Carolafelsen and Teufelsgrund are especially worth considering. The drive from the guesthouse to a starting point such as Schmillka takes about 15 minutes. There's a good selection of discount supermarkets nearby, and the price for what you get is excellent. The upstairs holiday apartment is spacious, with a lovely sunlit room, huge bathtub and fully equipped kitchen. Guests can also relax in one of the small garden seating areas on the quiet, attractive property. The hosts are very friendly, check whether you need anything and will even prepare a barbecue if you ask.
