Pension Villa Else

Arriving without Euros caused a huge problem, even though we had booked and paid by credit card on Priceline. Sorting it out took hours for us and the hotel, so make sure you bring cash. We were so unhappy with the stay that we left after the first night of our two-night booking, and couldn't get a refund for the second night. The hotel didn't seem concerned about what had happened and appeared to care only about keeping our money. At Villa Else, there's no turning back the clock. The room got very cold at night because the hotel turned off the hot water to the radiators. It disrupted our sleep, so bring extra blankets if you're visiting in colder months. There was no room phone to call management if something needed fixing. We also found a bug that looked like a cockroach. The decorative plants were all artificial, with no soil in the pots that it could have jumped out of. Parking wasn't in the hotel's rather large lot. We had to leave the car across the street at a spot that looked like a construction site, then carry our bags farther than expected. The only toiletry provided was a small bottle of hand soap, so bring everything else you need. Be diligent about checking that this accommodation has what you want before you arrive.
