I’ve spent over 200 nights a year in hotels of all kinds for work, so I know what I’m comparing it with. The Brenz isn’t a five-star hotel, but it’s solid for the price, and I’d stay again when we visit. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I found it too warm with the radiator on, so we opened the window, though the city-center noise meant we had to close it before sleeping. That worked well. The shower wasn’t draining properly, but we reported it and it was fixed by the time we got back. There was nowhere to put soap or shampoo in the shower, so wall-mounted bottles would help. My favorite thing was the salon-quality hair dryer. It dried my hair in no time, better than the one I have at home.

I don’t even want to review this place. Nothing I could write would capture how bad the hotel was. I just want to forget this ghetto trash experience as soon as possible.

I’ll definitely book here again on my next visit. Brenz Hotel is a great place to stay, with excellent service, a good breakfast, and a room that’s always well organized.

Breakfast was very poor, and the place felt more like a motel or hostel than a hotel. I don’t usually complain about missing things, but hotels should meet some basic standards. A low price shouldn’t mean going without winter heating in the 21st century. I turned on the radiators when I arrived, but they hadn’t warmed the room by the time I left. The rooms around mine were very cold too, and the heating was programmed to switch off at night. I caught a cold. The temperature was well below zero, despite it being unusually high for that time of year. Avoid these kinds of social anomalies.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect, right in the city center. It’s close to the mall and the lovely Christmas decorations. I’d definitely stay here again next time I need a few nights in Heidenheim.
