We had an attic apartment this time, so there were a few things to get used to, though it's a charming place with good space and practical, comfortable furnishings. The narrow stairs up to the bedroom were tough with full suitcases, and taller people need to mind their heads going down. The balcony was nice, but after rain you'll need rain pads. Compared with the apartment below that we had last year, this kitchen had fewer comforts. You have to sort out your own breakfast, which is normal for an apartment, but washing dishes by hand feels inefficient. The cutlery was incomplete. On the upside, when we had an issue, someone came by within minutes. The down bedding wasn't acceptable for me. The pillow was lumpy, and I couldn't sleep comfortably on it.

Oberland is central but still quiet, and everything you need is an easy walk away. We stayed six days in a clean, well-equipped first-floor apartment with its own kitchenette and bathroom, a balcony with a partial sea view, and a bedroom under the eaves. Space is limited in these listed buildings, but it was still pleasantly quiet. The Nordlicht building is run by the Hotel Mokka Stuben, and they resolved every problem we had. There's a return service for reusable drink containers, too. One thing to fix: please take care of the stair rail, since the rope isn't in great shape.

The rope stair rails were wobbly in places and poorly fixed to the wall, and rain came through the leaking bathroom window. At times it was noisy as well. Our assigned apartment covered two floors, and getting up to the top was difficult, especially with my mobility issues. The building has several apartments, and ours looked quite different from the description and photos.
