Hotel Garni Herborn

The hotel was impressively clean, and the sheets and towels smelled so fresh. Breakfast came with excellent coffee, and the city center is very close. We enjoyed our stay. It’s a simple, comfortable place, and I’d definitely recommend it if you want somewhere clean to stay.

The location near the city center was convenient, and the gentleman at reception was kind and helpful. The rooms were somewhat clean, but there were several problems. There was no soap in the bathroom, the bathroom door was an accordion door, breakfast was really poor, and the walls let through everything from the hallway and neighboring rooms. On the first day, another guest was still in my room because their car had broken down. I understood, and they gave me another room for the night. The next day, though, they moved my belongings to a different room without calling me. I really didn’t like that.

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was okay. The shower itself was nice, but its holder was broken and we had to rig it up to use it. The door was locked when we arrived, so after calling a number we were told where a key had been hidden. The hotel is on the ground floor of an apartment complex. We paid €71 for two people, including breakfast, for a basic, clean room that was fine for one night. The bed was too soft for me and I woke with back pain. I was also woken at 5:30 by someone outside my window getting ready for work. It’s a very noisy hotel: you hear toilets, doors, cars leaving, and traffic.

The room is cheap for a hotel, and the price is good. It can be quiet, though sometimes you get good or bad people coming in and making noise.
