Strandhaus Aurell

The house is right on the beach, and the apartments are furnished to a great modern standard. We’ve stayed at the beach house several times and had another wonderful holiday. The Baltic Sea is always worth a visit. The owners are very friendly, accommodating, and attentive to their guests’ comfort.

We spent 14 days in Apartment 1, Type 2, at the beach house. We chose the ground-floor courtyard apartment for personal reasons, and the owners had told us when booking that it was suitable for guests with dogs. We went ahead with it and didn’t notice any odors or other traces from our four-legged guests. The owners welcomed us warmly on arrival and showed us the way to the underground parking garage and the apartment. Everything in the apartment and the linen package was impeccable, and the beds were freshly made. The well-kept complex had a terrace with a table, two chairs, and a beach chair. We safely stored our two bicycles in the bicycle storage room. The beach was just a few steps away along the promenade. The accommodation and the surrounding area made for a very relaxing holiday.

The bed was comfortable, and the room layout and sauna were good. The beach was close too. But we booked 14 nights at Dünenhaus Aurell and left three days early, still feeling worn out. The street noise, which hadn't been mentioned beforehand, was unbearable until midnight; we had to turn up the TV. The street-facing balconies were noisy, and only one had furniture. There was no shade on that balcony, which was unbearable in the heat. Wi-Fi would drop out for hours. The coffee machine was broken, and the replacement they offered was dirty. There were far too few dishes, with just five glasses and cups and five spoons, among other shortages. The pillows and blankets felt cheap. We've stayed in lots of places, including several in Bansin, and this was the most expensive: €3,100 for 14 nights. At that price we expected luxury, and an honest description of the street noise and the fact that the apartment isn't in the first row by the sea.

We’re guests again at Strandhaus Aurell, this time in the new thatched-roof Strandperle holiday home, the fourth of its kind in Stubbenfelde. The owner runs all four with real care and passion. The furnishings and adjoining garden have everything we could want, and bringing our dog has worked well for us on past stays. The location is ideal, and we’d call it an insider tip. The hosts are friendly, always available, and take even small requests seriously. For relaxation and comfort at what we think is a fair price, this place fits the bill.
