It's a quiet, restful place in a nice spot in the small, quaint town. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and had good beds. This is a small guest house with a restaurant, very typical of the region. The host was quite gruff and unfriendly. Breakfast wasn't a buffet, just rolls, ham, cheese, and eggs, with no yogurt or müsli.

The breakfast was good, the wireless was fast, and parking is available at the back or on the street. The hotel was nice and clean, and the owners were attentive, though they only speak German. The price felt a bit high, but there was an exhibition in Nuremberg that week. Reception is closed on Tuesday, but you can access the keys. I did hear some corridor noise from doors slamming.

If you're within a hundred kilometers of Herrieden, you really should visit Mr. Limbacher. Last summer, while cycling through Herrieden and looking for somewhere to have dinner, we were personally talked inside by him as he stood in his doorway. I'm very glad we went. He turned out to be a phenomenal cook, and a personable, entertaining man. It's one of the few decisions I've regretted less.
