I’ve stayed here twice for extended visits, and both times I found it a really pleasant place. The grounds are lovely, with nice views nearby, and I enjoyed the family-style meals, which were always satisfying. There’s plenty of charm and history in the village. Just keep in mind that the hotel has no air conditioning, if you’re planning to come in summer.

If you’re visiting Herrnhut, Komensky Guest House makes a great base. It’s plain and has no frills, but it’s spotlessly clean and good value, especially for a group.

The garden is gorgeous, with life-size outdoor chess, a volleyball net, campable ground, plus a meditative walkway and gazebo. For facilities, this is probably the best accommodation in town. My room’s furniture and interior weren’t impressive or designer, but they were adequate, and I loved the mattress. The organic hand soap was a nice touch. I just wish shampoo, body wash, and facial soap were provided too.

The food was great, and the accommodation very comfortable. Everyone was warm and friendly, too. It’s set in the amazing town of Herrnhut, with plenty of history and beauty.
