We felt at ease right away in this peaceful spot, with the forest and Lonau River close by. Breakfast, with regional products, was a pleasant surprise. It’s a small, charming hotel that’s been lovingly renovated and run, and the owner takes excellent care of both the guests and the property. Our room and en-suite bathroom were clean and well equipped. It was our first time in Lonau, but definitely won’t be our last. We’d love to return, and wish you all the best until then.

The hiking trails nearby made for lovely walks and excursions, and the owner was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready with tips. We had a wonderful short break in Lonau at the Haus am Waldesrand. The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, highly recommended!

The breakfast was lovingly put together and had everything we wanted. Mr. Müller was very attentive, and you can tell his guests’ comfort comes first. The small house on the edge of the forest is just right, and we felt very comfortable thanks to the warm, kind welcome. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend it.

From the house you can walk straight into the forest, which is great for hiking. I booked one night with breakfast at the Haus am Waldesrand (House on the Edge of the Forest) for my 30th high school reunion in the Harz Mountains. The price was incredibly reasonable, and I was thrilled with the whole stay: a warm welcome, a comfortable room, everything clean, and a generous breakfast with plenty of variety. I’d gladly return anytime.
