The rooms were clean, newly renovated, and had everything we needed. They aren't in the Schloss itself, but in a building beside it. The location is quiet and still close to Herzberg. Breakfast was good, and for such a low price it was a perfect hotel.

Clean and pleasant, though the garden could use some work to bring out more of its royal flair.

The rooms were spotless, and housekeeping cleaned them thoroughly every day. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the cheerful employee at the breakfast buffet. Breakfast itself was good and offered a nice variety. I had a very good stay at the Grochwitz Castle Hotel (garni) & Event Location, though the rooms could be quieter. Footsteps from rooms above carried through, and on rainy days I could hear water running, possibly from drainage built into the walls. Better soundproofing would have made the stay perfect.

The castle grounds had a really relaxed feel during my autumn stay. I was even given a basket for mushroom foraging. After an hour of searching, I had a good haul and could take it home. That was fantastic! Food is a bit tricky during the week, unfortunately, though the neighboring Parkschänke did serve dinner on Mondays.
