Parkhotel Berghölzchen

It's a nice hotel, but the room setup is limited. There's no fridge, and nowhere to make coffee or tea, not even a kettle. That makes it a poor fit when traveling with babies, since there's no place to keep milk and similar things.

The hotel and location were lovely, and everything looked clean and tidy. But the beds felt like concrete and the pillows like wet flannels. It looked nice, but I expected I'd need a chiropractor the next week.

The restaurant was a letdown: our food took 45 minutes and tasted stale. The spicy spaghetti aglio olio had so much chilli padi that even as an Asian who eats spicy food, I found it excessive, and it would destroy a German. Most people there seemed to eat from the buffet. We got there around 4:20pm and were asked to wait an hour, which we refused after a long drive. They offered another room that was okay, but check-in took 30 minutes because the reception staff were so slow. I don't recommend this place.

We went to the hotel for one night for a wedding, arriving around 3:39pm, after check-in time. When we checked out before 11am, we handed in the key and were preparing to pay, but reception said the bride and groom had covered our room, so we left without paying. Nearly two weeks later, the hotel sent an invoice for the night and an early arrival fee of 10 euro per hour per person. That doesn't make sense to me. We're unhappy about the miscommunication and lack of competence, and we're still trying to sort it out without getting a response. Be careful when booking here.
