Van der Valk Hotel Hildesheim

Breakfast was a great way to start the day, and the fitness center was well equipped, with a swimming pool. My two-level room was lovely and had a good view of the Christmas market. It's a very good hotel in downtown Hildesheim.

It's been almost five months since my brother and I stayed there, and I still can't get over how inhumanly we were treated when we were vulnerable, or how far the hotel went to hurt us. My brother had surgery at a nearby hotel, and after he was discharged we stayed at van der valk for almost 10 days. I asked to extend our stay, but they said they had no room. I booked one through booking, then the hotel cancelled it and threatened to call the police if we weren't out by 12pm. I tried booking somewhere else in the city, but hotels began cancelling those bookings too. When I asked why, I was told another hotel had flagged us as troublemakers. I had to take my brother to a different city. We stayed only four more days, and then his doctor cleared him to travel home. This hotel will go down in my history as the worst of all time.

The area was very nice, and the room was clean and pleasant. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. I'd definitely come back if I needed a hotel in the area.

We had a spacious, comfortable family room with plenty of room, and the pool area was gorgeous and brand new. My daughter loved it. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and beautifully presented. The hotel is right on Hildesheim's main square, centrally located and beautifully renovated, apparently quite recently. I warmly recommend it.
