We had a good stay for one night, and the food was nice. It rained all day, unfortunately. The check-in was one of the quickest I’ve ever had: staff had us sign some documents and pointed us to our room. At this price for a four-star hotel, I’d have expected a brief explanation of where the restaurant, spa, and pools are, and the dinner and breakfast times. They didn’t need to show us around, just share the basic information.

The hotel is easy to get to by train. From the local station, it’s a five-minute taxi ride. The staff are unbelievably friendly, and the rooms are spacious, bright, and very nice. The beds are comfortable too. There’s a fully equipped gym and a pool table downstairs, and the spa treatments are very relaxing. I especially recommend the candle massage. Breakfast is plentiful and very fresh, and you choose dinner at breakfast. There’s plenty of choice, and you can adjust your selection or ask for something else if needed. The bar has a nice cocktail selection, just don’t have too many or you might not make it up the stairs. You don’t really need to leave the hotel for anything. I’d recommend it and will definitely come back in summer to hike around the area.

Kesslermühle stands out among the wellness hotels in the southern Black Forest for its large, lovely spa, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools and several sauna options. It’s a great place for a relaxing stay. The food is another highlight: an outstanding six-course dinner is served each evening, and it makes for a very pleasant culinary experience. Breakfast is also very good, with plenty to choose from, including muesli, omelets, meat, cheese, and sweets. I’ll definitely return, and I recommend it.
