We love the transportation pass. On our last visit, we spent two days taking the railway around the area. Oliver is a great host and lives on the property, and the apartments are very nice. We've stayed twice already and plan to come again in April, 2022.

Oliver was a wonderful host. The room was nice, with a good balcony and a mountain view. It's in an excellent spot, just off the main road in Hinterzarten.

The host was friendly and gave me lots of useful information. I had the smallest apartment, on the second floor, but it was still plenty spacious. There was no balcony, though I could use the ground-floor terrace and the small garden just across from the accommodation. The apartment was cozy, with a small kitchenette and a comfortable bed. It's quiet here, and the guest card let me ride buses and trains in the region for free. Great for hiking. A very good bakery diagonally across the way sells rolls, with a supermarket 800 meters away and the train station 500 meters away. The Wi-Fi usually didn't reach my room, but I could get online from the terrace. These are holiday apartments in the center of touristy Hinterzarten.

I felt at home as soon as I arrived. The apartment was comfortable and clean, and the host was warm and easy to reach. I’d gladly recommend "Im Grund".

Apartment 2 was very basic, and the size was nowhere near what we expected. We booked through Booking.com for a place listed at 40-45 square meters, but the attic apartment, with some sloping ceilings, was at most 25. We paid over €310 plus tourist tax, the price for the larger apartment, and felt ripped off. I wouldn’t recommend it.
