The owner was extremely friendly and quick to respond. Breakfast was a standard German spread, with eggs, wurst, salami and bread. The location is excellent too, a short drive toward Titisee one way and Feldberg the other, where the Ski schule is.

Breakfast was fresh and nicely taken care of, a cozy way to start the morning. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was so good that I slept better than expected. The hosts at Gastnaus Löffelschmiede welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home right away. They were kind, helpful and very hospitable. I can wholeheartedly recommend Gasthaus Löffelschmiede if you’re after a friendly, cozy place to stay.

We ended up there on Saturday after the other restaurants had closed. The portions were huge, as they seem to be throughout the Black Forest, and the food was very good, among the better meals we had in Germany. We ordered two kinds of schnitzel and two grilled plates. The meat was tender and cooked just right. Service felt homelike, too. A very good experience.

We got there just as the kitchen was about to close, but they were kind enough to serve us anyway. The staff were extremely friendly, and the service was REALLY good, especially since they spoke English with us, which you don’t find everywhere in the area. The restaurant was cozy, the food delicious, and the portions huge. Definitely recommended!

The staff made us feel very welcome, especially our children. It’s a lovely guesthouse with a great dinner menu, and the breakfast was cheap but very good. My wife said her steak was the best she’d ever tasted.
