This was my second visit, and I definitely recommend the hotel. It sits in a beautiful part of the Black Forest. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I’m especially grateful to Mr. Reppert for going out of his way to sort out my transportation predicament. The rooms are clean, roomy, and cozy, with comfortable beds. I always look forward to the fresh, well-prepared meals. After a day exploring, the spa and pool areas are a relaxing way to wind down.

Family-run since 1935, this traditional place has a wonderful setting. Family members join in activities for guests, including hikes in the idyllic Black Forest and sightseeing in nearby Freiburg. There’s plenty of parking, and the staff are courteous, friendly, and very helpful. The wellness area is the highlight, with a sauna, several pools including outdoor ones, yoga, different massages, and more. Bring swimwear. The restaurant serves guests meals with many local ingredients, and has a good wine selection. There’s also a seated bar and lounge where a regular pianist plays, with non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails available. Some guests have returned for years, which says a lot. Well worth a visit for a weekend or a longer Black Forest holiday.

So far, this is the best wellness hotel I’ve seen. The spa is great and never gets crowded because access is limited to hotel guests. The massage packages are great too.

The rooms are spacious and cozy, the food is nice, and the staff are very friendly. It’s a nice hotel not far from Basel. Some areas are a bit dated, but that didn’t spoil the stay.
