Titisee Haus an der Sonne by Kuckucksnester

A great base for a trip around the black forest, with a beautiful view directly over lakeTtitisee.

We didn’t feel comfortable here and left the same evening. The apartment was dark and uninviting, with dated furnishings and a typical old smell. Instead of the advertised double bed, also shown in the apartment gallery, we got a small room with a bunk bed. There was no sense of coziness at all. The Booking.com photos give a much better impression than the accommodation itself. A picture is worth a thousand words, see for yourself:

The pictures made the place look bigger than it was, and we’d expected two double beds but got one double bed and a bunk bed. Still, we were completely satisfied and everything went smoothly. The place was perfect for our motorcycles, the private lake access was great, and there were plenty of sun loungers. It wasn’t very busy, so we could fish in peace. Everything was clean, the kitchen was small but new, and the beds were comfortable. We’d gladly come back.

The landlady was friendly, and the apartment was beautiful, clean and just as described. There’s a lovely quiet lawn by the lake with loungers, chairs and parasols, and you can use a rowboat there too. To reach it, cross the street and go through a small patch of woods.
