We had an amazing meal of traditional German food, great for a family dinner. There’s also a small bar and pub area.

Gasthof Steineck in Ottbergen is a real insider tip if you enjoy good German cooking. The ingredients are regional and seasonal, and they don’t use ready-made products. Everything, from the sauces to the sides, is fresh and made by hand. You can taste the difference.

The food was absolutely fantastic and very tasty, but the portions were so small we had to search for the food on our plates. There’s otherwise nothing to complain about, and everything was wonderful. No offense, but there could have been more food. That’s why I’ve given four out of five stars.

We dropped in spontaneously on a Friday evening and were delighted by the attentive service and the table setting, including napkins and bread service. The menu was fine, the produce excellent, and local ingredients were clearly marked. Everything was prepared perfectly. Highly recommended 👌
