Parking is the one small drawback, though it’s understandable when you’re renting a room right in the old town. The area around it is really beautiful, and I’d stay here again if I’m ever nearby. It’s no luxury hotel, but it’s very clean and the beds are comfortable and good.

The rooms are clean, but the shared kitchen is down in the basement. If you work night shifts, this place really doesn’t suit you. There are sirens on the roof, church bells right outside the window, and drunken retirees playing bocce in the afternoon. The rooms also can’t be darkened properly. Three stars feels a bit generous.

Breakfast was generous and had plenty of variety, though it isn’t served until 7:00 am. The hotel is in a village on a quiet street, and the staff were friendly. The room was clean, with comfortable bedding and a bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. There’s no staff in the evening or at night, so keep your key and make sure you get the door code.

The room was spotless, but there was no breakfast because the staff had called in sick. After 8 p.m. the door is locked, and you have to phone to get an access code. It takes some getting used to. I wouldn’t stay there again.

The rooms are lovely, modern, and very clean. Breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced.
