Hotel Villa Passion

We enjoyed the spacious second-floor room, especially its balcony and the lovely views of the garden and lake. The hotel is pleasant, right by the lake with direct access to the water, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was delicious and had a good selection. There was no parking at the hotel, though we found plenty on the side streets. The hotel is quiet and a little away from shops and restaurants, but they were all within an easy 10-minute walk. With no elevator, be ready for some walking if you're on an upper floor. Since the restaurant is closed during the day, there's no direct route from the hotel to the garden, so you have to walk around the building. That could have been laid out better. Our room had two bathrooms with showers, plus a large balcony with chairs and a parasol. We were given a complimentary bottle of water, coffee, and tea. The bed was small for two and pushed against the wall, so one person always had to crawl in. That's not suitable for older people, and guests should perhaps be told beforehand. There was a little mold in the shower corners, although the rest of the bathroom was clean. What bothered me personally was the number of spiders. They were on the furniture and around the balcony, room, bathroom, hallway, stairs, and railing. Some seemed to have been there a while. Staff could perhaps remove them, as they don't leave a good impression.

The staff were fantastic, but we weren't impressed with the rest. There was only one key for two people, which meant we had to do everything together. I couldn't go shower after swimming in Lake Müritz on my own. The lake view was beautiful, but the room was too dimly lit to enjoy it. Reception was staffed only until 1 p.m., then the hotel was left to its own devices. We weren't offered parking at the nearby rehabilitation clinic, so if the public spaces were full, we had to look on another street. Guests also couldn't use the direct garden access or enter the breakfast room in the afternoon.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We had a wonderful few days at this well-run dream hotel. Its lakeside setting is stunning, with a bathing jetty and a lovely garden. Highly recommended.

Our room had a rooftop terrace with a fantastic view over the lovely garden and the adjacent lake. We spent four very pleasant days here. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel at home, and we're already looking forward to our next holiday. We'll be back soon.
