We stayed one Wednesday night in late January 2026, in the castle’s Kennedy room. Its history goes back to the 13th century, though these days it’s an anthroposophic center that also hosts teaching activities and conferences open to non-anthroposophists. People just passing through can stay too, as we did, looking for somewhere interesting for the night. The beds and shower were good, and the rooms were excellent. I could’ve used a long shoehorn, which is handy for older people. Meals are served buffet-style at shared tables in another building on the grounds. The food is vegetarian or vegan, and beer and wine are available to buy. Highly recommended!

Bathrooms are outside the rooms, so be ready to share with someone you don’t know. Breakfast is in a separate building, which could be inconvenient when it rains. The hot dishes, including eggs, are limited and aren’t replenished, so you need to arrive early. The place sits on a beautiful hill and seems ideal for a summer visit.
