Ferienappartements Grolik UG

The bar was closed, and the services listed online weren’t available. There was also renovation and construction work going on constantly, which made it impossible to relax. On top of that, the receptionist/manager wasn’t willing to compromise. A real shame, and I absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here. What we found was very different from the hotel’s online presentation. It’s no longer an active hotel. The rooms have been sold to new owners, who are using the property while it’s left in disrepair. The website photos are old and don’t show what the place is like now.

The holiday apartments are just outside town, so it’s peaceful there, though getting around without a car is a bit tricky. There are loads of sights to see within 50 km, so off to the Bavarian Forest! We’ve stayed here several times, and the welcome has always been warm and friendly. This time, too, we had a very spacious apartment.

On a nice day, breakfast on the terrace is a lovely way to start the morning. The buffet is generous, with a good choice, fresh fruit, and no pre-packaged food. The staff were very friendly, and so was the owner. My apartment was spacious and had a kitchenette, and everything was very clean. Such lovely service is wonderful to find. A big thank you, and I’d be happy to come back. Simply wonderful! Great offer, very quiet location.

After a filling, tasty breakfast, you can head out to explore the area from the nearby train station using the guest card. The service is excellent and friendly. We were very satisfied again this year. The rooms are well equipped, and the quiet setting and comfortable beds make for a restful night. Highly recommended.
