We'd happily book this apartment again and can definitely recommend it. It feels like home, with a lovingly furnished interior. The bed was perfect for us since we like a firmer mattress. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed for cooking, and if anything was missing, there are plenty of supermarkets in Lütjenburg. The hostess gave us the warm welcome you'd expect from someone with a North German mentality.

The apartment was small but had plenty of room and everything we needed. It was very clean, bathroom included. My daughter and I stayed from late October to November last year and loved it. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and you could tell they put their heart into what they do. Their daughter even brought us two muffins, such a lovely little gesture that made us so happy. We chatted a few times and got great tips for things to do nearby. The location is unbeatable. It's only a three or four minute walk to the sea, and there's a path where you can stroll with a constant sea view, for example, to Alt Hohwacht for a delicious fish sandwich. We'd love to come back and are already looking forward to our next stay.

The location is really good, but the apartment had much more potential. It wasn't like the pictures on Booking.com led me to expect. The place was quite small, though the living room was manageable. The bedroom and especially the bathroom were too cramped, and taller people will certainly have trouble using the toilet. Cooking was impossible with the kitchen equipment. The radio was broken, and the toilet lid kept popping off and falling down. The lack of attention to detail showed in the living room, too, where the sofa obscured the lower part of a picture. A real shame.

We couldn't make the five-hour trip because our six-month-old baby became seriously ill at the last minute, so we can't comment on the accommodation itself. Free cancellation was available until Monday, but by Wednesday they were asking us for 80% of the total price. Even after we explained the situation in detail and pleaded, they wouldn't offer us a cent. The hosts showed no empathy, so we'll never book again and won't recommend the vacation rental to family or friends. :-)
