Haus Junior

Our holiday was ruined. In the middle of peak season, we couldn't find another place at a reasonable price on such short notice. This was an absolute outrage, and I can't recommend it. The accommodation itself was cramped, basic, very noisy, and completely unfriendly to children. The landlords were rude and seemed somewhat disturbed. When we arrived, though, things seemed pleasant enough. We chatted a little, and the children played with the neighbor's dog. The following evening, our landlord asked us to keep the noise down, especially in the mornings. We didn't really understand why, but did our best to comply with two lively toddlers. The next morning the children were listening to an audiobook, and everything seemed fine until there was a sudden knock at the door. The landlady greeted us loudly and unfriendly, saying, "That's enough!" When I asked what she meant, she started shouting that she'd never experienced anything like this. I stood in the doorway, completely bewildered, and asked her to explain the problem. In front of the children, she repeatedly called them "ill-mannered monsters" and "annoying pests," then became completely enraged. I told her she couldn't be serious and raised my voice too. The situation escalated, and we were told to leave. We did, because we couldn't stay under those circumstances. Even days later, I still can't understand how anyone could behave that way or say those things in front of children, especially someone who used to work in daycare. She should think about the harm her words and actions may cause the children, and take a look at her own mental state. To top it off, she then told booking.com that she'd been threatened.

The beach and shops are close by, and the host family made us feel welcome, even with a child along. Our little one was given a special tour of the shed, with all sorts of wonderful things to make a child's heart race. A fantastic all-around stay :-)

I wouldn't recommend this place. The accommodation felt cramped, the furnishings were dated, and it was very noisy. The landlords were unfriendly.

Everything was very clean, and the landlords were friendly. The holiday apartment had all the essentials we needed. We'd be happy to come back!
