After two months here, despite having planned to stay six, I left feeling completely ripped off. The owner is unfriendly, and the house is filthy. I was only told when leaving that €200 would be taken for the bedding, mattress, and blanket. That should have been explained before I arrived. What makes it worse is that the bedding, mattress, and bath towel I was given were already used and worn out. At €50 a night plus a security deposit, the price doesn't match the service. I also had to wait three months for my deposit to be returned after departure. This is an unprofessional business, and I can't recommend the guesthouse. The owner also runs a restaurant in Simmern, which I found just as disreputable. The owner is the problem. This should be shut down and reported. Never again, never again, never again.

The beds were the one good thing, and that's the only reason this gets one star. The bathroom had black mold, the place wasn't cleaned, and when I raised these problems the owner was rude and completely unprofessional. In winter, the owner opened the windows while turning off the heat. A fresh towel every day wasn't available either. I'd give zero stars if I could. The previous owner's positive reviews misled me after the ownership changed. Never again!

Watch out when entering the address into your GPS, since the guesthouse is in the Holzhausen district. We had special requests, and they were accommodated. The rooms are stylish, breakfast was excellent, and the staff and owners were lovely and very dedicated. They even served delicious food after 10 pm. We highly recommend this guesthouse.

We felt very uncomfortable here. At breakfast the owner interrupted our personal conversations, and in general he was intrusive and didn't respect boundaries. For a small guesthouse, it also lacked the charm you'd expect. Our reservation hadn't been recorded, and the price we'd agreed on when booking wasn't honored. This owner-operated hotel was terribly run, with poor service and no structure. Never again.

The menu has lots of different dishes, and the service was attentive and very competent. The value for money is excellent. A good place to stay.
