Landhaus Blumengarten

The worst part for us was the smell in the room, something like air freshener. We couldn’t use it comfortably. There were no TV instructions, and with no one around to ask, we couldn’t figure out how to watch anything. It was hard to find staff when we arrived, and a sign would have helped. No one came by the dining room after 8:30 p.m. Friendliness didn’t seem to be a priority. The room was a comfortable size, and the hiking location was beautiful, with a magnificent view from the window. But cleanliness was a serious problem: hair on the mattress and a bathroom that seemed to have been mopped in a hurry, still not clean. The bed setup was mismatched, with two different mattresses, one pillow that was just a lump, and one heavy duvet alongside a thin one. The linens and towels were old. On the balcony, the ashtray and table and chairs were dirty, and the doormat was covered in dog hair. One chair slipped between two boards, which felt dangerous and needs attention. Breakfast was reheated supermarket rolls, sausage, cheese, tomatoes, and eggs. It’s a matter of taste, but we expected much more from the reviews. We paid €120 for one night with breakfast and weren’t satisfied, even if it had cost less. We won’t stay at this guesthouse again.

We’re walking the Hermannhöheweg, and we’re really glad this guesthouse is here. It’s the only option in Leopoldstal. The host is super friendly, and the garden has lots of seating where you can enjoy a drink and some really good cakes. Our bedroom is fine. Dinner is whatever’s being served that day, which has its own charm. We get a starter, main, salad, and dessert, all in more than sufficient portions. It’s lovely, like eating at Grandma’s. The hostess is thoughtful, and because we had to leave early, she let us start breakfast earlier. All in all, a cozy, friendly, family-like place.

Everything at the flower garden was great, from the hosts and rooms to the food. We felt very comfortable there.

The hosts looked after us well and gave us useful hiking tips. The country house is well located for wonderful walks, and both the comfortable rooms and breakfast met our expectations. We had a wonderful stay at Landhaus Blumengarten in June 2023 and will definitely come back.
