The local ham and sausages are the real treat here. You can buy them on site on certain days, along with other products, and they taste so good I stocked up again after just a few days. Gutach and Triberg are both nice towns about 15 minutes away, with plenty to do. We spent five nights here, and I don't write reviews quickly, so that says how much we enjoyed it. It's quiet up on the mountain, though getting there means a good 10-minute uphill climb. The view is beautiful. Wi-Fi worked, not especially fast, but very welcome since I had no phone signal. The only possible downside is that there could be more bins for sorting trash. This place is firmly on my list, and I'll be back.

The host's own smoked Black Forest ham and sausages are hard to match, especially compared with supermarket meat. My eight-year-old son usually doesn't like sausage, but after trying these he said he didn't want any others. We happily stocked up at the home shop, where prices were fantastic. The apartment was wonderful and had all the amenities, and the host greeted us with a smile and was very friendly. It's a lovely place to get away from city bustle, with beautiful surroundings and parking. Mr. Franz Kaltenbach's apartments made for a wonderful vacation, and we hated to see it end.

We spent four nights at the farm and found it a fantastic place to stay. The mountain quiet was so relaxing, Franz was incredibly nice, and he makes the best Black Forest ham. The value for money is unbeatable.

We drove 280 km again today just to shop at the bacon shop. Every kilometer was worth it, simply fantastic!
