After many years of staying here, we’ve decided not to come back while things stay as they are. Little things keep making guests feel unwelcome, and new booking fees are being added without any clear reason. The current receptionist is especially unfriendly and seems not to like having guests around. She comes across as focused on profit and acts as though she owns the whole island. Ms. Fenge, by comparison, was very nice. There are also problems with the apartment itself: the ceramic stove tops are broken in the middle and have been glued together in a hurry, the cutlery was dirty when we arrived, the furnishings feel makeshift, and the towels aren’t changed every two weeks. Why would someone like that work in tourism? It’s bad for Hörnum and bad for Sylt.

The owner was so warm and welcoming that we felt genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The apartments are stylishly furnished, and every one has a lovely view across the beach and sea. The beach is only about five minutes away. Even in peak season when the weather is good, it stays pleasantly quiet apart from the promenade. I can highly recommend this apartment hotel.

The dunes and sea looked stunning from our room each morning. The hotel is in a great spot, and after my holiday on Sylt I’d happily recommend it. It’s a beautiful, high-quality place, especially if you want a quiet, relaxing break away from the island’s busier areas.

The bedrooms downstairs didn’t really work for me. We didn’t dare open the windows because there were so many bugs crawling around in the shaft. It would’ve been helpful to have an information folder, too. The view was great, and the living room with its kitchen and dining area was lovely.
